Start TheCodeFactory

Thinking about starting a space?

The original idea for The Code Factory was hatched in April 2007.TheCodeFactory model was developed from the ground up focusing on its mission, vision, values and principles. The intent since inception has always been to develop a replicatable model for facilitating the creation, growth and success of Web 2.0 start-ups. The model is intended to be reproduced in other Canadian and North American cities.

Does starting The Code Factory seem like something you would like to do? (Read on)

Building a collaborative workspace and incubator is far less deterministic than setting up a franchise to make burgers.   There is no single secret sauce or magic formula for making it happen; mostly it is a lot of hard work, trial and error. We have been throwing spaghetti at the wall for over two years and have found quite a bit of stuff that sticks and of course some that doesn’t.

When you are starting up you want to focus on the stuff that works and avoid wasting time on stuff that doesn’t. We believe that we can save the typical incubator 6 to 8 months of time in getting to break even and profitability that will significantly extend your runway and improve success rates.

Building a community  isn’t for everyone, it is a lot of hard work, means taking risks and building partnerships. If you would like to talk to us about getting started the first step is to take our online suitability test. This will help us to determine if you’re a good fit with our model.

The online survey is here.

We’ll get back to you with the results within two business days.
